Had an appointment this morning at the Blaydon Primary Care Centre to get my leg ulcer looked at/dressed. Walked down to the village to get the bus.
The Centre was quiet as usual. Only one nurse on duty in the Critical Wound Centre today. She assured my there is no infection in my leg. The pain I'm getting is just normal leg ulcer pain.... I did know that already. She suggested contacting my GP again for better painkillers. I'm taking one painkiller per day at the moment but I can increase the dose to 3 per day so I think I will do that first and see if there's any improvement. The nurse put on a larger dressing as well as a silver one directly on the ulcer - this should help it to heal. Before I left I made appointments for the next 4 weeks.
After my appointment I got a bus to Aldi. Haven't been there for a while so I had a good look around. In the end I didn't get much. The bus home wasn't due for a while so I just got a bus to the Metrocentre and then straight on to another bus home.
Watched a couple of episodes of The Chelsea Detective. I did think about doing some gardening... or going down to the village to collect a parcel ... or doing some ironing. But in the end I went to bed and slept for 3 hours.
