Rotary student exchange programme

As a Rotarian my family has hosted many exchange students over the last 25 years, and it's a special delight when you get to visit them later in their home country.

On this holiday I've already spent time with Sarah in  France (Blip May 22), and right now I'm staying with Filip in Sweden.  He's a mad-keen fisherman and today I was on hand to snap him with this perch before it was gently released back into the lake and shot away into the dark waters.

We then prepared a delicious BBQ lunch with food we'd brought with us, sat and chatted about the times back in 2011 when I'd been his host-mum, and slowly explored the edges of the lake by boat, before driving back to the city. 

The beauty of the Swedish landscape, the complete silence of the lake environment, the warm warm sun, and the gratitude expressed both ways made for another very special day in Sweden. I'm a very happy traveller.
