Shiny Shoes

Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny and The Mini Princesses,

I had to go and buy smart shoes today. Not trainers or boots. Actual shoes.

I felt very confused in the shoe shop. I haven’t bought shoes for about 10 years and they feel very weird on my feet, like I’d put them in prison. I settled on a pair of patent brogues and had to tell the 5 year part of my brain not to say “oooh shiny” out loud.

I think of the torture I used to inflict on my poor feet by wearing heels and feel very relieved that footwear fashion has changed and wearing trainers is fine for almost any occasion. Freedom for feet. Banish bunions!
