A mixed day

Mr C took the car to get its aircon topped up while I went with Shona to Philosophy group. I’ll miss next month as we are away. I’m still not sure about continuing - too many people want to bang on about their own anecdotes and the facilitator doesn’t seem to take any initiative. Shona, Katie and Vivienne asked if he could give us more guidance as Geoff said it shouldn’t be a discussion group as they are in one elsewhere.

I had a message to say to go to Morpeth for an orthopaedic appointment on 12 August. We are away with the family in Germany then so I phoned to change it. The couldn’t offer another date as the next tranche doesn’t come out for 6 weeks and earlier ones had gone. I asked about going on a cancellation list but they don't do that. In the end I was told I could phone each week to check. I still haven’t had the recent X-ray result so I’ll see what happens there. I’m reluctant to go private now and start again.

Ailie came to eat early to have a good catch up about her recent Maritime Province holiday, then we met Vivienne at the Jubilee Hall for Lynne’s play “Playhouse Creatures”. It was about prejudice and misogyny in the time of Charles II when women were first allowed to act in the theatre. Superb acting and a powerful play.
