Waiting
Some days I just waste, the time just sleeps through my fingers and not much seems to have been achieved. Today was such a day.
I'd spent most of the night trying to sleep but I did listen to both episodes of McLevy in the West. And I swam, busy at first and then thinned out. It is this problem 8000 away that kept me going over things in my head, preventing sleep.
Continued the day with a call to #1 son about the problem though he spent most of it venting his frustrations, though I did get a fuller explanation of the cause of his accident, and then there were 3 way follow up emails. Back in the kitchen I thought the 47+ year old electric knife had died, but when I tried to make tea it turned out it was a fuse that had tripped, so up on the big step ladder to fix. Ordered a couple of things to pick up from Asda. Next my regular meeting with K. We overran but she is on the ball. As the day progressed I carefully used the ladder to clear out the gutter above the water butt then back on the ground cleaned and polished tables, summer pruned the Amelia roses, had a go at sorting that pesky kitchen cupboard door, tidied the office including doing the filing. And the delivery of things for the 23rd arrived.
It kept threatening to rain and eventually it did. Decided to have a go at retrieving files from the old PC but it just kept going round in a loop. Slightly hypnotic watching it. Then I remembered my external back up drives. The newer one I couldn't work out how to retrieve info but the HP one had files in plain view and I found a lot of photos which I'll need to move to One Drive sometime but meanwhile I saved the few I needed and tweaked the presentation.
Evening TV is pointless for me at present as it's either Wimbledon or football but I watched Ch4 news on +1. Netflix doesn't work in the front room.
And then I went to bed, early. On reflection I actually got quite a lot done today.
