Hot, sunny and fast

Another hot and sunny day.

I spent the morning and part of the afternoon in the garden.

I don’t usually play in the Wednesday evening bowls league, but the team was short of players this week and asked me to step in.

Due to a misunderstanding about the start time, I arrived with just minutes to spare and was unable to have a practice before the game. 

I was drawn against a top-flight Welsh international bowler. I played well on a very fast green, and with the score at 17–18, a win was within reach. But then I did the unforgivable—overplayed both of my final bowls, and they ended up in the gutter.

Despite the 17–21 loss (see extra), I thoroughly enjoyed the game.
