Heron

We went for a walk along the sea-wall to the canal. Quite a few herons on the far side of the lagoons and from one spot along the path Mrs P counted 13 all in a fairly small area. But I chose this one of a heron in flight. Not sure if it is the same one that later joined some mates in the treetops. On the way home stopped off briefly at the harbour where Thames Fisher, a frequent visitor, was unloading oil. In front of it was a dredger and a somewhat derelict looking boat with a large open hold - possibly a barge to carry the dredger's output. Hopped briefly on board to see it's not completely empty but is growing trees.
