Sometimes I sit and think...
A Boundless day out to the new Bristol Zoo Project, and despite the forecast (of course) it didn't rain. A decent day out... I am conflicted slightly on the subject of captive animals, but accept that in a human dominated world zoos may be the only safe place left for them.
This replacement for the small but world renown Bristol Zoo (now closed and being sold off for housing) is in its early construction phase, with lots of unfinished bits and a slightly amateur feel to it. The residents tend to have a larger site within which to range, and that can mean they're not always readily apparent to the visitors!
Still, lots of see and do, and the Boundless discount made it a worthwhile visit. The image is of a Gelada, a primate from Ethiopia. Very hairy and doing a Sitting Bull impression with his face into the wind. If he turned the other way he resembled Cousin It from the Adams Family...
Nice to bump into daughter and grand daughter, and also Mrs and Mrs Fitzbilly.
