Diary of an Edinburgher

Two Good Boys

I took Archie for a brief morning walk. We met Hamish and his dad again! And weirdly, Archie didn't do his usual crying, leaping crazy hysteria round his hero. Maybe because they came up behind us - he goes crazy when he catches sight of him from afar.

Archie went out with Elizabeth later, but for a more relaxed walk than their usual hike over the hills and dales. Then they relaxed at home, on the verandah in the sun (and out of the wind).

I think it reached a high of 16° today. In JULY! I think we need another name for it in these latitudes - it cannot be called 'summer'.

Still, I don't mind, I have tennis to watch. JR went off into town on a mission.

I'm really enjoying Wimbledon. Between sets, there is NO SCREECHING MUZAK! Just calm reflection. Everyone just quietly murmuring. And I'm so impressed with the new Hawk-Eye, called Talk-Eye. It automatically registers if the ball is out, putting six people out of a Wimbledon job. AND, an extra twist - it's REAL (not robotic) voices, recorded by the Wimbledon staff. Although I have since read that there have been some players’ complaints about wrong calls…

And yes, I DID see a wee mouse scuttling under the sink today...

And yes, I did keep up with my healthy stuff - pedalling and drinking - but I'm just going let you presume I do it every most days.
