Stone and Ice

A fascinating walk with Friends of Pollok Park exploring the former village of Polloktoun, the ice house for Laigh Castle, and the Curling Pond built in 1906 for the Stirling Maxwells. I have spent many an hour looking for these things in the wrong place.
Most interesting of all was what I have always assumed was a track made by dogs and dog walkers going towards the river on the far side of the bridge. It is in fact the remains of an ancient river crossing, possibly a ford or stepping stones from Polloktoun to Laigh Castle.
