Always Expect The Unexpected

I never expected to be doing a blip like this! I had blackbirds.

This afternoon we had the Revd. Beth Honey at our Social Club speaking to us about her work with Restore. It's a Diocesan based charity making money for its existence by selling second-hand goods but the real aim is to offer cafe space for people to come in for a free coffee and a chat. The staffing is done by people in recovery who are being encouraged to be out working in the community.

It was inspired by Op Shop in other places.

Anyhow, about the wee man. She brought objects from the shelves in the charity shop for us to guess the prices. Some of us were close and some were way out, an elderly gentleman not realising a designer T-shirt when he saw it. Our group got this chap, 12" high made of resin. I, a former high-street retailer, said £5 but the other 2 knocked him down to £3. What do you think?

This evening we went to the Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group's annual talk and met our village ranger. A good evening and we won a prize, a painting of a red squirrel.

Oh, the real price of the wee man? £7.50!

Upcoming Blipmeet:
I've been organising a Cumbrian Blipmeet. I'm lucky that there are a few blipping couples we have meals with but it's a long time (pre-Covid) since we've been on an anybody-come-along-if-you-can sort of blipmeet.

So, it's near Cockermouth on Thursday, 10th July, to celebrate Tryfan46 moving to the Lake District. Details are on Community Page.
