That's about how I feel!
It's my birthday today so after a slow start, we headed off to Smeaton Garden Centre, I've spent several birthday lunchtimes there in the beautiful sunny garden. Today was no exception.
They do a very nice ploughman's lunch which is what I enjoyed again today.
The birds were in good voice, and there were lots of very tired looking parents, like this robin, looking after extremely healthy looking fledglings. Such is life for many creatures.
After we got home we relaxed for a while then prepared to head out again for dinner with Ali, Stuart and the girls. We headed for Cafe Andaluz in Stockbridge, another tradition, the staff are so good there and the children enjoy the food. They brought me a birthday icecream with a candle in it, Josie was a little disappointed there was no cake I think!
There was an interesting incident yesterday. I was driving home on the Queensferry Road when I noticed something lying in the other lane. I only had a quick glance but thought it looked like a wallet. I went home, parked the car and walked back to have a look. Sure enough it was a wallet. I managed to pick it up without getting killed and had a look to see if there was any id inside.
Thanks to Facebook, I managed to track down both the owner and his wife and messaged them. They were very grateful. They had been in town and on the way back had stopped and bought petrol at Craigleith. He had put the wallet on the roof of the car while he paid and it fell off near us, after he had driven about half a mile. I was very glad to be able to contact them and return it, before they had even realised it was missing . Lucky it was so easy and that they only lived a mile or so along the road.
