Parched cricket pitch
I drove to Buckhurst Hill to have my hair cut this afternoon – it was too hot to walk there and back. Afterwards I had a short walk near the hairdresser’s, around Buckhurst Hill Cricket Club’s Epping Forest pitch (their main pitch is in Roding Lane). You may be able to make out the groundsman in the distance tending the pitch. I saw quite a few butterflies darting around the forest paths surrounding the pitch, but none stayed still long enough to get a photo.
On my return I continued sewing the second of my tiered dresses, and I have now finished inserting the invisible zip and lined the bodice. I just have the tiers to gather and join together, complete with pockets, and then I need to join them to the bodice, so I’m making good progress. Fortunately my craft room is north facing, so it’s been quite cool in there, for which I was grateful.
