Madchester

I caught the train into Manchester this morning for the quarterly committee meeting, which was followed by a visit to Mayfield Park. I took a few photos there, appropriate for a flower Friday themed blip, but it’s consigned to extras.

I had not realised that today is the first of five nights that Oasis will be playing at Heaton Park, with 340,000 tickets sold. The city centre is like an Oasis theme park, images of the Gallagher brothers everywhere, and their music blaring from the open doors of pubs and bars. It’s a really hot day - 32°c - so I wore my tilly hat. Weirdly it looked as if I was nodding to Oasis, it’s not that far removed from the bucket hats true fans were wearing. I can’t do the Liam swagger though :-)
