Hidden

This is the New-Holland Honey Eater i spotted him in the shrub on my walk this afternoon, he should fill today's topic, he was definitely well hidden in the dense shrub.
I could hear him i just couldn't see him, i stood for awhile quietly watching and waiting - waiting then out he hopped onto the highest branch! clearly he didn't see me.
This is another little bird (around 18cm) that flies into my garden when the Grevilleas are at their fullest and full of nectar, they are vital for the reproduction of many native plants spreading pollen they pick up with their very long pointed beak, this is the New Holland's main food source although they occasionally eat spiders, they only breed here in W.A annually between July and November.
He is a common little bird in the Southern parts of Australia and also here in Perth, he darts from flower to flower and is not an easy bird to capture, a bit like a butterfly!
