Al fresco!
Not surprisingly we were all up late this morning, Grace having an all day rehearsal in Bristol was up first.
Jude was last and the girls seen here are still in their PJ’s.
They had cereal inside and then later daddy made us coffee and croissants and banana milkshakes for the girls. For a short while in the morning there is a bit of shade on the terrace table so it was lovely to eat out there.
Chris cut the grass, which were just a few tufts really on almost brown lawn. (see extra). I sat out until the shade disappeared sewing ribbons on to ballet shoes, not the girls but Graces!
I thought I’d stopped doing that years ago. In fact the last time was when I sewed some onto a pair for the wedding 12 years ago. She had a pair for the dancing in the evening.
It was very hard work, they are point shoes and I had photographs showing me how to do it properly! She wants to start wearing them for rehearsals (not the Sunday ones for Les Mis in August but for The Adam’s Family in September) Also she needs to dye them grey as she is playing a dancing ghost!
Late morning a garden chair Grace had ordered for John’s birthday arrived - I know who will sit on it! The girls were straight there - extra - by this time Jude was back in her ballet Princess out fit.
We went inside for a late lunch as the sun was too strong, after which we set off home. We’ve been here about half an hour and completely missed the tennis.
Also in the extra, just next to the girls on the seat is the magnificent Hydrangea ‘Annabel’ with its huge white pom-poms. Grace wanted one when they moved in and this year is the first year it’s really produced the fabulous blousy flowers.
We’ve had a great time both here and further south. Thank you for the love for the girls yesterday, I should be back in just over a week for more fun!
