Super stars

This is the best I could get of my two granddaughters this anfternoon and of course Eda insisted on a silly face, no matter they were both truly stars today.

It has been a full day made more intense by the heat. We knew the girls had end of term ballet shows today which is the main reason we came down, but at almost the 11th hour Eda’s Saturday drama class announced they were doing a show today as well!
Luckily one was at 12.00 at the end of the normal session and the other at 4.00 pm. I think Eda has done particularly well to do them both with so much enthusiasm.

ForJude this afternoon was her first show. Each had a dance sequence with their group and they also sang ‘When I grow up’ together and had a lead part in the dance. When I talked to her about it back in April she was a bit tremulous so we were more than delighted at how well she did. So we just had to have a congratulatory photo!

This evening we’ve had a BBQ with all the special neighbours invited. The initial  attraction for the children was the paddling pool which when the water pistols came out turned into a water fight! At least we can use the water for the plants when we empty the pool tomorrow.

The girls and their friends then went indoors to do a bit of crafting followed by putting on a show! You’d have thought they would have had enough. Eda sang When I Grow up again and her friend sang Somewhere over the Rainbow. Jude and her friend did two dances. We were all greatly entertained and impressed by their organisation with allocated and named seats! A great end to the day.

Everyone has just gone home so I think we’re all ready for bed now. Phew just got my blip done before midnight.
