Tyred oot….
Another scorcher of a day.
We are struggling for water in a few of the cattle fields as there is hardly anything coming down the burns.
Managed to get Ali R to come and help me make a start on getting the sheet on the silage pit before it starts to spoil.
This means covering the top of the silage with a big black plastic sheet and then covering it wall to wall with tyres to hold it down and keep the air out. It usually needs about 1200 tyres to do the job and most of them are full of old smelly rain water.
I didn’t want to go too daft lifting tyres yet as it’s only 2 1/2 weeks since my op. Managed some then decided that was enough by 4 pm. Will hopefully get some more helpers tomorrow to finish the job……
