Day trip to Hythe

We have the rest of the week planned out, but were looking for a wee trip for today.  We had heard that Hythe is a pretty coastal town, so set off on the bus which took an hour.
We were very impressed with the beautiful shingle beach, with my favourite type of coastal plants, and fishing boats moored up on the gravel. There are also interesting war remnants from the early 1800s built against Napolionic invasions.
In the afternoon we explored the old town including going into the crypt of St Leonard's Church which is full of bones which are 700 years old-all displayed on shelves. Interesting and not too gruesome!
In the evening spotted a very localised moth, the Jersey Hawk-moth, see extra.
