Patron saint of Lyon and the Canary Islands.

He was a well respected theologian and philosopher of the 13th century.

He reformed the Franciscan Rule.

The photo shows the completed Cello Musical box. Paul needed a creative project after completing a few difficult jigsaw puzzles. We are waiting for a delivery this afternoon of the next two, a steam train and a model of The Victory, that we visited in Portsmouth, when the children were young.

Today here in Rishton, we are thankfully back to more normal weather. Indoors in the living room, it is 20.9c and 72f in the conservatory. It has rained most of the morning and early afternoon. The plants look refreshed and the water butt is filling up.

The cats seem happy to enjoy the rain and Hunter came in soaked but fine about it. Holly the more timid cat, stayed indoors after a quick visit to the garden during a sunny interval. A lone blackbird found a worm for his breakfast. Jasper visited for breakfast and then at 1pm.

I ordered a useful cool bag from the Mountain Warehouse clearance sale. I am a happy regular customer when they have a sale of something that I need or could gift.

With climate change and heatwaves in Britain being discussed as likely to be a normal future aspect of our lives, having a collection of comforting cool things for the heatwave seems like a good idea. The North West is officially in a drought area, the news informed us at lunchtime and the East and West Midlands are too. I try not to worry but prepare for what we can and then take each day as it comes. I keep a shelf of Highland Water bottles in the greenhouse with tap water. It is better than just recycling the bottles.
