Eye to Eye

Busy Bee Eaters

These were rare migrants to Switzerland but now there are three well established breeding colonies in gravel pits near home. I only just discovered this two days ago! The only downside is that the quarries are still working so you’re not allowed in them! Therefore these photos are quite cropped. Still it was amazing to see them. They are such fantastic aerial gymnasts! They leave again in mid August for Africa. I’m sure I’ll go there again to try for better photos.

Tonight we are going to see a friend’s two kitten Maine Coons. One of them is identical to Preston as a kitten, gorgeous. Of course it has four legs. I have a feeling they’re going to want to talk to us about potential little, and big, problems with Maine Coons! There might be an extra of the two little ones tomorrow as we will be back too late for tonight.
