What The.....????

Spotted this and two others a=n a fence when we were out for a quick walk (between rain showers).
I have never seen the likes before and have no idea if it is natural or man-made -- and 'No', I didn't poke it to find out.

The rain shower before we left the house was pretty directional, judging by the trees.
It was nice and sunny by the tome we got home. Maybe it was the sun in y eyes than made me miss the hoverfly on the Honeysuckle. Either that or I am just going blind.

My hollowing technique on the lathe needs work. Making mugs has not really gone very well. They will be perfectly usable (assuming I chose the right finish for them, but I am not particularly happy with the insides.

The man from the kitchen maker turned up this afternoon. Unfortunately he didn't know about one of the doors needing to be 're-shaped'. He is (we think) one of the managers and had found our doors with the name on them but no other details so had done a bit of enquiry and was horrified to find out we had been waiting weeks and there was no 'work order'. The lack of information is probably due to the two fitters leaving the company very suddenly due to very severe health problems in the family. I wish them all the best.
It will be about a week before the work is done as one of the doors has to be cut and although it 'could' be done in the back of the van but probably would be up to the standard wanted by the boss (or us) so will be done in the factory. As there is work to be done in the workshop he is also going to cut down and alter the shape of a cupboard handle rather than fit a 'knob' to a very slim cupboard that was fitted under the sink so that it will fit in aesthetically. To avoid disruption twice everything is going to be done at the same time - although there is a tiny chip on the edge of a piece of facing which, despite that it will be hidden when the new cupboard door is fitted he is going to have changed. But that will mean waiting on it coming from Italy .... and the Italians on on the 4 week long summer holiday from this week!!!!!.
