Bargain!

Bought yesterday my bargain buy dahlias were glowing in this morning’s sun.
I bought two earlier in the year and blipped them in the 1st June here and as predicted they have produced lots of flowers. The past week of extreme heat has seen them suffer in their pots, in particular the leaves of the red one so I thought I might get a replacement when at Woodbank yesterday for lunch. I was amazed to find that the still extensive collection available had been reduced to £3 each so I got two!
So here they are! Very different from my original choices but already brightening up the doorstep. I haven’t abandoned the others, which are still full of buds, just put them somewhere a bit less prominent to hopefully recover.

We had extensive rain in the latter part of the day yesterday but woke to a fine, sunny if slightly cooler morning. Got the delayed ( from yesterday) lot of washing out and dry and finished Monday’s ironing.

Quite nice to not have much on today. Time to chill.
