We have a lovely
start to the day, but watch out -
there could be thunder!!!

I backed my car out just before 6 to discover four chukars on the street. I grabbed my camera off the front seat with hopes for some shots. However, a big fluffy grey cat was slinking through the landscaping in a front yard, making a beeline for the chukars. I imagined the carnage to follow, so I banged on my car windows to scare the chukars away. (Too early in the morning to be honking the horn.) They scattered and squawked. One flew up to the rooftop, then looked back for the others. One froze on the front steps looking around confused. The others disappeared. Somehow the danger was averted, I got a couple of shots and I drove on.
I drove down to the little Westmount Park beside the North Thompson River, very close to home. I walked up to the Rivers Trail beside the park so I can view the river and the railway bridge. I walked under the railway bridge to get a shot of the Halston Bridge next to it. I managed to catch the sunrise and a very long freight train on the railway bridge. The Westmount neighbourhood was very quiet, except for the train.
There's some office work waiting for me this morning, but I should have the rest to call my own. Our sunny morning could be slipping into thunderstorms this afternoon.
