Airedale

My 6 monthly eye appt was this afternoon here at Airedale hospital, clinic 3. Clinic 2 next to it is the Audiology clinic so lots of people coming to get their hearing aids checked and sorted.
As you can see it is pretty quiet but I was fourth in to see the consultant. Also the 6 months was nearer 10 as it was September when I was last here.

You can never tell, I’ve arrived for a morning appointment and all the seats seem to be full but I’ve been virtually straight in.
The audio clinic has a desk where people check in or make their hearing aid queries but the eye clinic doesn't so you have to wait till someone appears to ask if you’ve been checked in. It always happens but I do find it a bit disconcerting.

This all sounds like a complaint but I was in for my field test within half an hour and out from the consultant in 45 minutes, so not bad. Even better my field tests and vision were good and my pressures were the lowest ever, in the teens! I have ocular hypertension which is just high pressure in the eyes and he was at pains to tell me it is not one of the 4 types of Glaucoma and I don’t have any of them so I’m more than happy. Always good to get it over and I’ll be back in 6 ( to 10 ) months just in case!
Not a great blip but I thought it was an interesting change and of course I couldn't have taken it if it had been full of people waiting.
Good early walk today. 3 of us fed the ducks and some more ducklings and walked round the pond to find the swans and cygnets. They weren’t playing! Just one preening itself whilst the others continued to sleep!
We stood there enjoying the calm for a while and a swallow swooped down to drink some water. Lovely.
