Quite a challenging day
We woke to thick fog again and set out after an early breakfast to travel 6 hours to our next destination.
After a couple of hours, the road changed to a dirt track, reminiscent of Namibia. As we travelled uphill and “over the top”, the mist disappeared and it was sunny and hot. Too hot again!
We had occasional short stops to take a photo/go to the loo/buy water.
Now we have arrived at our “cottages” beside Lake Myvatn. (Translated this means midges!)
The cottages are wooden cabins. My bedroom is tiny and I cannot put my suitcase down on the floor. The water is rich in local minerals and smells of rotten eggs.
I AM TIRED! This makes it harder to cope with. I expect that I will feel better after a night’s sleep.
Today’s image is from a lovely waterfall we visited this morning. It was a cool delight.
