Swimming, bottles, and football
Both Jan and I blipped this swimming spot on the 15th. We photographed out across the lake then, so here is a slightly different shot, looking back over the rocks we sit on, where we climb or jump into the lake. The other side of the rocks, hidden in this picture, is the artificial beach where people with small kids set up their base.
We started the day here with a morning dip, arriving early enough to have the place to ourselves.
One of the jobs done today was the washing of 24 wine and cordial bottles. They'd sat in the cellar for maybe 15 years and had a good coating of cobwebs and thick dust. They were washed first in the water butt, getting them clean enough to take into the kitchen for a proper wash. You can see some of the bottles in the extra photo. I thought that line of bottles drying in the sunniest corner on our property made a good image. It gets so warm in the afternoon in that spot that we scurry past as we leave the house. In the spring and autumn, or on cooler summer days it's a good place to sit in the afternoon.
We got an invite to Rose's to eat a barbecue with two of her children who were visiting her for a couple of days. A very pleasant evening eating, drinking a little, and chatting with Rose and the "kids", who were born around 1979, more-or-less the same time we came to came to Sweden!
The final event of my day was following the Sweden - England football match. I only actually watched the final extra-time 30 minutes and then the penalties. What a horrible way to decide a result after such a good match. Having a foot in each camp I didn't mind who won but seeing my sisters in England so happy when England won made me happy too!
