Loving tribute

Got away with walking to church and back with just a few spits of drizzle, not enough for an umbrella but the heavens have opened and we now have heavy rain, heavier than yesterday.
( My son in Port Rush says it’s ‘sweltering’)

These beautiful flowers were at the front of church and we were wondering for what occasion, we knew there hadn’t been a wedding or a funeral. One of our congregation was taking a photo before the service began and I asked her. She’d had them done by our very talented florist parishioner from the village garden centre. This week would have seen both her parents 100th birthdays. What a lovely gesture. Her mum Doreen only died last summer, so nice to remember them both.

The wine last night was certainly different. I would describe it as sharp, a bit like a very dry cider. Chris liked it and we’ll certainly finish it with our dinner tonight  but I doubt we’ll get it again as there are cheaper wines I like more!
