Salts Mill
My visit to Haworth earlier this year inspired my sister and her eldest daughter to visit for the first time. They’ve seen a production of the Railway Children, involving travel on a steam train (part of this year’s Bradford city of culture celebration), visited the Brontë Parsonage Museum and explored Haworth, and tomorrow they’re visiting Huddersfield.
I went over today to meet them for Sunday lunch at the Fleece Inn. The afternoon was extremely wet, so - as they had never been, and knew very little (if anything) about it - I took them to Salts Mill at Saltaire. I think they were suitably impressed. I liked Ann Hamilton’s installation “We Will Sing” in the enormous roofspace.
