Wound up in Wexford

Loosestrife

It's rained on and off all day.  No gardening today.

But I did go for a wander with the camera during a dryish gap.

Top photo, purple loosestrife (lythrum salicaria).  Native, we had a good amount around the pond in Norfolk.  The dragonflies liked the tall flower spikes.  Especially the following year, when the dead heads were a convenient lookout post.  Bought to enrich the environment around our pond here.  No dragonflies here yet.

Bottom photo, yellow loosestrife (Lysimachia vulgaris).  Totally unrelated to purple loosestrife.  Acquired as a giveaway from the gardening club as a rootball, "ground cover, don't know what it is".  Also a native, can be thuggish, so will need an eye kept on it.
