A view from Jeanneb

At The Circus.

After a slow and chilled morning we walked down to the village of Larkhall. The girls were promised a trip to the ‘Magic shop’ but there was nothing of interest so we headed to London Road for the bus into Bath.

First stop was Wagamamas for a late lunch (extra). It was delicious and they were very good at catering for Eda’s gluten free needs. We were all a bit over faced and ended up with some to take home with us.

From there we headed up Gay Street to The Circus, one of the highlights of Georgian Bath along with the nearby Royal Crescent. We crossed to the marvellous trees in the centre of circle of buildings - top picture. There were at least two tourist groups with guides there. Moving on towards the Royal Crescent we took the little side street that is full of cafes and shops to visit another ‘magic’ charity shop. The girls were immediately successful in their finds as you can see when we returned to the Circus Plane trees. Eda suggested a game of hide and seek which we played several times amongst the crowds of tourists. One of the tourist families started playing and at one point we were sharing hideouts. We had a great time. They weren’t speaking English but the children waved when they ‘found’ one of us.
Such a lovely fun time before heading back to the bus and the climb home.

I made the girls a light supper and they are now in bed, after stories, with even more cuddly friends!
Grace is off to her rehearsal in Bath.
Daddy has arrived in Japan and earlier was enjoying Sushi and Saki before catching up on his sleep.
I’m now enjoying a couple of leftover duck gyosas with a glass waiting for the Great British Sewing Bee to start.
