In Flight Entertainment
A visit to the purple martin colony to see how they are doing and try again to photograph them in flight. I saw the chicks I posted 10 days ago, see extra, they still haven't fledged.
Almost impossible to catch them coming into land because a) I can't predict which direction they will come from, and b) tracking can't lock on because of the trees in the background. I got a few as they took off for another sortie, but the best chance I found, as in this case, was when they were relocating to another perch.
I think this is a female or immature male lacking the distinctive purple colouring. They make such a cheerful sound.
Extra: Still Hungry.
