A pherry, a phuneral and a Phriday

No, I wasn't back in Glasgow again, but I took no photos today so here is one I made earlier (that is, on Wednesday).  After my day in the office I cycled along the Clyde walkway to the Kingston Bridge.  I've been this way loads of times over the years and never thought about this sad hulk of a floating restaurant.  I found out only recently that it's not an old random barge or platform at all: it's actually the old Renfrew ferry that until 1984 spent its days shuttling people and cars back and forth the couple of hundred metres between Yoker and Renfrew.  The blue hull is mostly original, although the veranda is built on a box that sits on the old car ramp, and everything in white was added later.

But back to today.  It was a rush to get some bits of work finished so that I could log off at lunchtime.  I met up with Mum and Dad at a chapel in town for my elderly neighbour's funeral.  It was a fairly short but beautifully well-read memorial service, and I might have teared up a tiny bit.  But I enjoyed hearing so much about her past that I didn't know, because I never was able to have any long conversations with her.

In convoy with Mum and Dad I rode back home and we spent the afternoon drinking tea and catching up with our news, before heading to theirs at teatime for the evening.

I've also backblipped my feline friend from yesterday.
