Swifts

The swifts will be off on their journey south soon. So I'm keen to watch them whenever a sunny morning comes along.  The morning sun catches the underside of their wings sometimes, in a very beautiful way (extra). These are heavily cropped shots: they were flying quite high over the garden, and as ever, it's hard to keep the focus on them in flight at all.
Later Jack and Marianna came over for lunch, with Simone and Frieda. They settled Simone for a post-lunch nap, and then went off to the Tramlines festival in Hillsborough Park (I'll add an extra that Jack sent me later).  The star attraction is Pulp, playing on home turf - it promises to be something special.
S and F will be with us for the rest of the day and overnight. Lively times ahead!
