Funny Little Frog

A trip out to the annual Cumbria Steam Gathering at Flookburgh this afternoon. As usual, it was the cars and motorcycles which attracted my attention, rather than the steam powered vehicles, though there were many lovely examples of those on display. Luckily, the weather remained dry and we even had some sunshine towards the end of the day.
Before internal combustion engines are banned or disappear entirely, it is my ambition to restore an Austin Healey “Frogeye” Sprite. Preferably one that is the same age as me and not in such pristine condition that fitting an uprated engine and brakes won’t upset the purists.
Something exactly like this, in fact. A 1960 model that was imported from the US and converted back to RHD. It’s also fitted with the bigger 1275cc engine that I would want to fit so I could keep up with modern traffic.
Time to start clearing the garage, looking for a suitable car and saving up to buy it. Maybe not in that exact order…
