Threipmuir Reservoir and the Pentlands
This morning we heard the tragic news of the death of the wife of my longest and best friend who I’ve known since 11. Isobel fought courageously with chronic illnesses for many years and finally lost the battle with a devastating infection which was exacerbated by her being immunocompromised.
Their boys grew up with my boys so we go back a long way. I can see her in my minds eye as a young adult when she met and married John. She went on to become a very successful head teacher. Such a sad loss for John, his boys and their children, but a blessed relief for Isobel in the end.
Nothing else matters today. A walk this afternoon in the sunshine up in the Pentlands gave some solace. The scenery was just splendid.
