Road Trip!

Captured this little guy on our journey home. We came through the Steens Mountains and stopped at Frenchglen. Several amazing bird refuges, this guy is a Black-Crowned Night Heron. The high dessert is a beautiful place, a different beauty than what I am used to, but very pretty.

Before leaving Utah we stopped at the Bonneville Salt Flats (in the extras). Thanks to Suzie we always take the adventurous routes, (she’s the fun one).

We ended up in Burns OR and stayed at the recently renovated Central Hotel. It was an amazing hotel, so much attention to detail and so nicely restored. We toured the ‘Boiler Room’ which turned out to be a speak easy of sorts. The owner had over 500 bottles of whiskey tucked in every nook and cranny. Heather, the gal that met us and gave us the tour, said we could taste any whiskey we wanted. She had no idea how well we knew our whiskey. We found all the best and most expensive ones to taste.

All in all our road trip home was a lot of fun and an amazing adventure.
