Cooling

SP cooling down in Memphis. Went to Gibson guitar making factory yesterday and saw them making the guitars. It was pretty amazing and one of the best touristy experiences I have ever had, they take perfection very seriously. Also walked past an amazing old looking motel on the outskirts and said "wow I'll have to look up the history of the place " as I saw it there was something about it. This morning I discovered Martin Luther King was assassinated on the balcony there....

Today was warm and the fountains in downtown were appreciated. Went to Mud Island which felt like Camelot in Eccleston just hotter and more in need of TLC. A huge scaled model of the Mississippi. You take a monorail over the Mississippi to get there. It was hugely hot in a naff way...saw the sign saying welcome to Arkansas on the bridge...not quite there yet. Hot, humid and thundery here but still to break. Went to Beale Street tonight and it was deadly quiet but the police still closed the road. Tomorrow Graceland and staying in shacks for 2 nights so internet silence may be on the way for a few days.....all in all I have enjoyed Memphis but it makes me miss Nashville unexpectedly. . .
