We love Gordon Brown

Blipped the beach after my shift at the Cancer Research shop this morning. 

When I got back home, Martin greeted me with a bit of good news. Gordon Brown had won us a £100 Amazon voucher. 

We correctly answered the question ‘Who was Prime Minister on the 1st January 2010?) in last week’s Sunday Post newspaper competition and had been randomly selected as the winner. 

The Sunday Post is the only newspaper we buy physically now, as we enjoy reading ‘Oor Wullie’ and ‘The Broons’ in paper format over a cup of tea and a bacon roll every Sunday.

I also enjoy the tactile feel of the newspaper as I read it, and have recently started doing the crossword again (I used to do it as a kid), using a real pen. There’s something so very old school and relaxing about it.

Anyway, we’re happy and will continue to support our favourite residents of Glebe Street.
