Cherry Plum Picking

Found out this morning that a referral had not been put in on Friday as I had thought. Big upset. On my way driving in to ask to see the ward Clark a physio called me just to give me an update (hallelujah! Someone thinks they should update family!) found out from her that mom had been put back on fluids so not not medically fit to leave.
Went back home to eat, drink and just sit and gather myself a bit.
Went in about 1:30. Mom was sitting in her chair sleeping. She was ok. Went to speak to the sister for an update. She was just going into the meeting for updates so would come find me later. She did and started listing the things the doctor wanted to do next(like weigh her every day because she’s losing weight - of course she is she doesn’t like the hospital food so isn’t eating. Weighing her each day isn’t going to change that!)
Anyway the up shot of the whole conversation was that she asked if I wanted to start a referral now … she spoke to ‘high n mighty’ presumably… then came back and agreed with me that mom would be better at home especially as they were not treating her medically and that they would put a refer in today for discharge. Shortly after the physio that spoke to me on the phone earlier came and spoke to me in person saying that the referral would be sent in straight away.
After I put mom in bed she slept from then onwards and refused to waken up for dinner. She and I were starting to get quite annoyed with each other so I left her with her food tray.
Home.
Walked the dogs along the canal and through the Medford by the park.
Went to Cathie’s mom and dads to pick the cherry plums that were hanging over into their garden and that their neighbour didn’t want. Sat and had a cup of tea with them. (Trevor was looking good.) I enjoyed hearing the birds outside. It calmed me inside. And enjoyed the tea and Penguin biscuit.
I drove Pam the Van home, stopping at McDonalds on the way for a chicken select dinner and strawberry milkshake.

So up and down….I’m so tired.
