19.8C and foggy

I spent the morning looking though photos to get ideas for lino cut printing. Next stage will be to sketch out images the same size as the lino blocks and try to visualise some variations in the marks I will cut into the block.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. It was just as foggy as yesterday. The fog/haar makes our walk very quiet and sometimes eerie with all the normal sounds very muffled. Walking down the bridle path can be in complete silence.

Once we could see the sea we noticed the tide was well out but coming in. There was lots of seaweed on the wet sand, so we had to walk in the deep dry sand for a stretch to avoid it.

The owner of 'Valhalla VI' was just heading up the beach in the red tractor. By the time we got to the Fishermen's huts he had loaded his catch into his pickup and was about to head off. The owner of 'Shamara II' arrived by bicycle as Meve and I were wandering past his hut. He said a cheery hello.

We wandered back down onto the beach and went along past where the boats are moored. For some odd reason (or perhaps no reason at all) we wandered a bit further than usual. Result ... a nice piece of ceramic with a green design which I blipped on an old upturned boat on the way back along to the car park where we rejoined our usual route. Some days it is fun to walk just a little bit further :-)
