Happy Yorkshire Day!
We passed this the other day and I thought I might return for a blip for Silly Saturday but when I walked passed it this morning I saw that it was all about Yorkshire Day so it had to be my blip for today.
Accompanied Chris to the tip this morning with his Fuchsia hedge shreddings and then called in on friends M and fellow walker and sometime blipper rose54. Chris was just checking on his watering instructions in their garden next week. Their ‘top box’ was already well packed for their upcoming camping trip and we were invited in for coffee. R had shown interest in taking her grandchildren to see The Railway Children and I wanted to encourage her to book it after our experience last night.
I asked Chris to drop me off at Woodbank garden centre on our way home which he did but they didn't have just what I wanted, so I walked to the garden centre at the other end of the village passing the Malt Shovel pub and this display on the way. Yorkshire day blip sorted without seeking out Yorkshire flags and interesting to see it has become a Timothy Taylor’s pub.
Got the plant I wanted at ‘Bingley’ Garden Centre, which interestingly did have some Yorkshire flags out, then. of course, had to carry it home! Planted it as soon as I got in and have then done very little since!
Happy Yorkshire Day everyone and happy Friday.
It has just been on the local news that it is the 50th Yorkshire Day having been created in 1975.
