King's Cross

(3/8/25)

We were both up early today. The first thing I did was get myself a Railcard and then book our tickets from Clandon to Waterloo. I would prefer to drive to Surbiton and start our journeys on Oyster cards, but G didn't want to drive that far. Tickets booked, we then got ready to leave. G had to abandon her plan to be at the welcoming parade for the Lionesses. It's just as well, as it seemed to take an age to get to King's Cross with one heavy suitcase!

We made it with enough time to have a quick lunch at Giraffe before I put G on her train. I can't believe how long it is. SO MANY carriages! As it happens, the seat allocated to G had no window!!! So she moved to an empty seat with a view, ready to move when required.

I decided to do a recce of the head office where I will be working in the third week of August. It was easy enough to find the building, but it's the church opposite that caught my eye. It was gorgeous! A short walk back to Waterloo past Rupell Street (my extra), and I was back home to put in a day's work. It is quiet! :(

I am enjoying the cooler weather. :))
