Sloes
A quiet day, pottering about, reading my book, washing the sheets that D & G had forgotten they had left last time they were here, that sort of a thing. Went for a stroll down the lane and picked a few blackberries. There weren't as many as up the hill so I'll have to go back upwards. It was lovely though to be out and while looking for blackberries I found a big stretch of blackthorne covered in sloes.
There wasn't enough room in the bowl for them so that will be another trip out.
Francis arrived around 6.00ish so we headed out for pie and a pint in the pub. It's looking a bit neglected and definitely needs some love. Not sure it's really getting much from a landlady who seems intent on falling out with everyone (so the story goes).
But the pie was tasty (not really a pie says Francis - stew with a lid on) and worth the very long wait.
