Flypast

A hearty breakfast with our guest this morning. Feeding him up for the travel …..to Glasgow. My efforts at dropping him off at Waverley came to nought. Despite Googlemaps suggesting the route was clear, access across the High Street was blocked off. Efforts to get round to the back entrance of Waverley were also shut.

My attempt to get to Haymarket (where we should have gone first despite taking us closer to the Oasis concert venue) led to us being in standing traffic. So I dropped him off to walk and left him to it.

In addition to all the festival events, there was also a March of the Provincial Grand Black Chapter of Scotland to add to the fun!

In the evening I went onto the Royal Mile to watch the Red Arrows fly over the Tattoo. There are various flypasts but this is the only scheduled one with the Red Arrows. They did not disappoint. Some tourists asked if this was a daily occurrence!

Despite being some 4 miles from Murrayfield we could hear the Oasis concert being carried on the wind! Glad we don’t live closer to the stadium.
