Proboscis

The cloudless sky and warm air from the southwest made this a hot day, and the coming days are going to be even hotter with up to 37°C (after „only“ 31°C today). I don’t like the heat and finished most of my work and errands in the morning before it got unbearable outside and in my top-floor office.

A few weeks ago, I deadheaded the buddleia bushes, so that they would produce more flowers. It worked, and they are once again attracting lots of bees and butterflies. I loved watching this hummingbird hawk-moth hovering in the air and searching for nectar with its long proboscis.
