First crop

I lifted some of the potatoes from the small potato bags. Two varieties. They did not seem to do very well in the small bags. I hold out more hope for the larger bags in a week or so. At least the rat - which has not been evidenced much in the past few days - has not burrowed into these bags (unlike the larger bags). Perhaps the copious distribution of vinegar is doing the trick.

Our nephew and girlfriend popped in to say hello at lunchtime before getting into their car and driving south. (It made more sense to park here than outside their friends’ central city flat). They enjoyed their 3 show fringe experience: some better than others and some celebrity spotting.

I had to cross town today for appointments and visits. The traffic seemed 3 times worse than normal. Still, made it to all my destinations and friends, knowing of my rat issue, kindly gave me one of their cucumbers!
