On Golden Loire

This morning we visited the Château d'Amboise which was beautiful and full of history. The temperature today was just right and the morning started under a hazy sun. I took my main blip from the island in the middle of the Loire which gives a good view of the Château.

I've added some extras which may or may not be of interest. The first one is entering the Château which always makes me think of how many people have walked through and seen this view down the ages. The second shows Mr Sk walking up towards the St Hubert Chapel where Leonardo da Vinci was laid to rest. He arrived in Amboise in 1516, aged 64, and died three years later. The third extra shows the view from the roof of the Château of the bridge where I took my main blip.

The fourth extra shows a section of the extensive gardens called the Naples Terrace, and lastly a view from the ramparts of the main tourist street below where we had a delicious omelette for lunch!
