Looks Can Deceive.
The sun and heat is holding me hostage and the crowded world beyond the railings deters any thought of escape. I am certainly not complaining, I only have to think on the bitter winter months ahead when I would give my eye teeth for some of this heat.
When you see the peaceful tranquillity of my blip you don’t need to know of the tumult outside the gardens and also the background noise of humanity having fun
I had coffee in Söderberg this morning with one of the Merry Widows, staying until a party of 18 descended on an already busy café when we thought to beat a hasty retreat.
My coffee today allowed me to claim a free coffee or a loaf of bread. I chose a lovely big round loaf of bread which in retrospect I should have had sliced ( if they do that) because the cutting of it with my 62 year old bread knife proved particularly arduous.
Daughter #1 popped in after lunch on her way to Kinnaird Park and left with 4 slices of bread. I might choose a free coffee the next time I get an award.
I am now sitting in the full glare of the sun wondering how long I can last before I dissolve in a puddle of grease. I may have to adjourn to the coolth of the house. If only an ice cream van would appear as if by magic…
It’s not everyday that the Glasgow Executive Director of Education sends you a personal congratulatory letter on your Highers’ Results but Nina is in receipt of one. I told her she should frame it - it’s worth keeping. She may have peaked too early.
