Sweetie Pie
This morning I had an appointment with the practice physio. He was very helpful. Although my X-ray sounds horrendous, he thought it was not too bad. He carefully examined my knees and gave me some helpful exercises.
Aggie and I were pleased.
I had two sad phone conversations. One was with my cousin Margaret in Australia. Her husband of 59 years died 3 days ago. He had palliative care for kidney failure following surgery and died peacefully.
Then I spoke to Mary in Sunderland. Her Mam died 10 days ago and she had to write to me because I no longer have a land line. We both looked after our mothers at the end, so we have shared experiences.
Then it was an afternoon drive to Nunthorpe to stay with Janet. Sweetie Pie, her remaining cat, has been attached to my lap ever since I got here. There was a short break while Janet, her partner David and I went out for a pub meal in Great Ayton. It was very busy.
It turns out that the main courses are half price in Mondays so it is their busiest night of the week!
Janet and David shared a dessert, while I refrained from having one. I suspect that my lasagne had twice the calories I should have consumed!
